-2-4 supporting ideas (paragraphs) that support my point of view citing specific details/evidence from given texts
-write a clear introduction, that includes a topic sentence with clearly stated opinion, and strong conclusion
-includes transition words/phrases
-write a conclusion that restates the opinion, summarizes the biggest idea, and calls the audience to action.
INFORMATIONAL
I can write an informational text that includes:
-source list
-facts, ideas, and topic related vocabulary from multiple sources
-logically organized paragraphs including things such as topic sentences, headings and illustrations
-concluding statement/paragraph
LANGUAGE/GRAMMAR
I can use the appropriate verb tense in speaking and writing
I can explain the function of prepositions, conjunctions, and interjections
I can use a comma:
-to separate items in a series
-to set off a tag question
-to set off introductory elements
-to set off the words the yes and no
-to indicate direct address
